Climbing up the Slide

Today I made a layout for the scrapxscrap's challenge #14 - now they accept international entries :)

It was the first time for me to make a non-digital 12x12 layout.

お題は、
１．連続写真を使う
２．ハートのモチーフを使う
３．クリア（透明素材）なものを使う
で、この中の「ハートのモチーフ」というのを見て、あぁこれはオチに割れたハートを使いたいなぁと…

そういう発想が先にあって、それに合う写真（しかも連続）を探し…
できたのが上の画像の作品です。

滑り台を下からのぼる娘。つるっと滑って、転んで、頭をゴチンとやってしまった図です。右上が、直前の模様。
全体的に、滑り台のイメージにあわせて斜めにしてみました。

もともとの発想がハートから来ているので、ハートは大量に使ってます。クリア素材は、Little Yellow Bicycleのクリアフレームを写真の上にかぶせました。

初の12インチ作品を作るにあたってのモチベーションはというと、とにかくミニアルバムでできないことをやりたい！ということでした。
そんなわけで、普段はなかなか使えないpop dotsをしつこいぐらいに使いました。ミニアルバムは閉じることを前提に考えなきゃいけないので、なかなか大胆なポップアップはできないです。


写真ではわかりにくいかもしれませんが、実はフレームもpop dotsで浮かせています。その上のハートにも使っていて、立体！な感じです。
今まではレイヤーで何とかやって結構満足していたんですが、ディメンションがある作品…ハマりそうです。

Finally got a DSLR!

One of my little dreams came true. I finally got a DSLR!!!
I'm so excited, though I don't know what to shoot first.

Anyway, photography will soon be one of my hobbies.

ついに、デジイチを買ってしまいました。でも何から撮ればいいやら（笑）
近日中に、写真が趣味になる予定！

CJ - Wendy's journal

This month I worked on Wendy's journal. Her theme is "Advice to a child". Hmmm it's so hard for me. I have a child but I too am like a child. Don't know what to advice.

Anyway, this is the photo of my pages. (unfinished)


I am looking forward to the next journal, but the next one is delayed due to the very strict customs inspection, so I don't know when it will come to me.

今月のCJはWendyさんのジャーナルです。テーマは「子供へのアドバイス」、これもまた難しい…私も子供はいるんですが、私自身子供ですから、何か言えるような立場ではない（笑）
次のジャーナルは遅れているようなのでいつ届くやら…カナダの税関はとても厳しいようです。

postage stamps

I like to use postage stamps on my scrapbooking layouts. I sometimes get lots of worldwide used stamps at ebay or etsy. Stamps from eastern Europe are my favorite.



But I don't think I want to use Japanese stamps. Maybe it's because they are too ordinary for me.

切手をSBのLOに使うのが好きで、ebayやetsyでたまに世界中の使用済み切手の詰め合わせを買ったりします。東欧のものがお気に入りです。
しかし、どうして日本の切手を使う気になれないんだろう。ありきたりすぎるから？

busy busy busy!!!

The only one phrase I remember in my textbook for English classes in elementary school is:

"busy busy busy
mom is busy all day long"


And now, I'm busy busy busy!
Because of my job.

So I have no layouts done this month - wow can't believe that a half of the month has already passed!
Well I am very tired, have no "Lust" to do something creative... oh, "Lust" is not English, it's German word - haha I'm tired and I have no "Lust" to look it up in a dictionary.

And I don't write this post in Japanese today. "Weil ich kein Lust habe."

CJ entry for Shona's Journal

This month's international circle journal was a bit tough for me. Shona's theme is "art", I love this theme but found it difficult.

I decided to make a layout of my favorite artist, Roy Lichtenstein. I love how he use dots in his artwork, so I used dotted paper.


After taking this photo I placed some photos on the journal. I'm interested in architecture, package design and product design and I used photos of those.

Then I added some round-shaped embellishments such as pearls, buttons, rheinstones to make my layout more dotty (dottie??).

今月のCJはかなりキツかった…Shonaさんのテーマ"art"は、すごく好きなんですが実際やってみると難しいなぁと思って。
結局、リキテンシュタインの絵を使うことにしました。彼のドットの使い方が好きなので、PPもドット柄のものを選びました。
上の写真をとった後、写真を貼って、エンベリッシュメントをつけました。写真は、建築物とパッケージとプロダクトデザイン関連の物を使いました。メーカー勤務だからプロダクトデザインには興味大アリです。
エンベリは、こちらもドットっぽく見せるためにラインストーン・パール・ボタンなど丸いものばかりを使いました。

Starbucks tumbler

My boss will quit her job to move to Minnesota in the US.
I and my colleagues decided to give her a tumbler as a farewell gift.

We bought Starbucks' "create your tumbler". I made this graphic and printed out, then cut it and inserted to the tumbler.

上司がミネソタに引っ越すため退職します。退職時のプレゼントとしてタンブラーを贈ることにしました。
スタバのCreate Your Tumblerを買って、作った画像を入れました。画像にあるMNとはミネソタの略であると同時に私達の部署の略称でもあります。
